Righto. She is hot.

But that isn’t the reason why I really like her music. I think she is a very talented singer both in Spanish and in English. And to find that her influence did get to the region of Japan, got me hopping excited. Of course, the Japan edition of her albums have different covers for some reason – they’re not as nice as the cover she uses for the original edition. You can view a not so nice version here. Perhaps, Japanese thinks that she’s just another latin singer – well, frankly, she’s more than that, she’s Talent with a capital T. Her other previous English album, Laundry Service, got some pretty good reviews especially from Metropolis Japan. They called her the Latin Alanis Morissette…yea, right, Alanis Morissette can’t shake those booties like her.

Anyway her latest English album, Oral Fixation Vol. 2 speaks volumes. As compared to Laundry Service, her first serious English album, OFV.2 is a more mature and better focused, which appeals to a larger crowd rather than the teeny boppers market which most singers’ market are focused on.

While Hips Don’t Lie is perhaps the most played song on the radio in US/CANADA/MALAYSIA/SINGAPORE, but don’t be fooled. It is by no indication that the rest of the songs in the album are not as good. To me, I personally feel that every other song is actually better than Hips Don’t Lie….. although everytime that song is played, i cannot help but feel like shaking my hips. It’s catchy, for sure, which is definitely the reason why the song is chosen to feed the mass. It pleases all.

Songs like Don’t Bother, Dreams for Plans, Costume Makes the Clown, Your Embrace are definitely worth golden stars for. It showcases her voice and her talent (she’s multilingual – she speaks Arab, French, Spanish and English), this 4.9ft babe isn’t just a hip shaking phenomenon but an under appreciated gem. While her albums are rated from good to excellent, the hype is still not as great as say the hype of Paris Hilton, useless socialite who got to stardom from her porn video with an ex-boyfriend. -__-

Frankly, actions are worth more than words. It’s useless to speak so highly of her without something to prove it for – therefore, I am providing some links for you to sample some her songs and let it speak its volumes by itself.
