While I do agree that the $40 pricetag on most J-Rock albums is insane to most of us American fans. But buying a bootlegged CD from Taiwain or Korea is an even bigger waste than just downloading a torrent. You're paying $14 for something that is bound to have skips in it, and the artist loses income. A better move would be to try and actually pass the message to the bands you love that "Hey, we like your older albums, why don't you re-release them in America through a U.S. distributor?" More and more J-Rock bands are coming to the U.S. for shows, and if there's a meet and greet, it isn't terribly hard to write a message to give them after the show. Or you could try sending question suggestions to people who've done interviews with the band, so the next time they talk with them they can pass that information along.

You right it is bad to buy pirated CDs, but come on, give us a break, shelling out 40 dollars for a CD is literally theft. I try to buy as much legal cds as I can, I have bought most of the Cds Tofu Records published, and every Dir en Grey thing reproduced in America. A good tip to all those not wanting to pay forty dollars for a cd, try buying the korean versions of the Cds.
